Port Directors Program
Port Leadership Summit
The Port Leadership Summit is an immersive professional development experience for senior port executives, emerging leaders, and Port Professional Manager (PPM®) candidates.
A welcome reception on January 25 precedes the core program, held January 26–28. The program combines interactive workshops, facilitated peer exchange, leadership discussions, and firsthand exposure to Curaçao’s cruise, cargo, and maritime operations. Sessions will explore practical leadership challenges, including succession planning, the transition to executive leadership, governance, organizational capacity, emerging technology, and navigating political dynamics.
Commissioners & Board Members Pre-Summit Program
Monday, January 25 · Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort
Open only to port commissioners and members of port governing boards. This stand-alone program is designed to help governing officials explore effective port oversight, governance, and leadership through focused sessions, a workshop, and peer roundtable discussion. Participants may register for this program alone or add the Port Leadership Summit.
Port Directors Post-Summit Program
Friday, January 29 · Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort
Open only to port CEOs, executive directors, and port directors. This stand-alone program brings newer and experienced port leaders together for candid discussion of the responsibilities and challenges unique to the top port leadership role. The day is expected to include focused sessions, a workshop, and a peer roundtable. Eligible participants may register for this program alone or add it to their Summit registration.
What Attendees Should Know
The combined program spans five days. Participants may register for the January 26–28 Port Leadership Summit, an eligible one-day program on January 25 or 29, or a combination of programs for which they are eligible.
The Summit is limited to no more than 80 participants, so early registration is encouraged.
The January 27 program includes leadership sessions aboard a cruise vessel. Photo identification will be required in advance for vessel access; registered attendees will receive final instructions.
Business casual attire is recommended for daytime sessions. Resort casual attire is appropriate for most tours and receptions; cocktail attire is anticipated for the January 29 stakeholder reception.
Optional island activities are available to registered attendees and their guests. Advance registration and additional fees apply. Attendees should not select an activity that overlaps with an event program they plan to attend.
Program times, venues, speakers, and off-site activities are subject to final confirmation and may change because of transportation, operational requirements, or availability.
Attendance at the Port Leadership Summit is a core requirement for first-time PPM candidates.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to reserve accommodations using the official hotel booking link below. Booking through the official room block helps AAPA meet its contractual commitments and supports future events.
A valid passport is required for travel to Curaçao. All international visitors must complete Curaçao's Digital Immigration Card online before arrival. The form is free and should be completed within seven days before departure. Please save your confirmation digitally or print a copy to have available when traveling.
